So how does a learner qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy?
Learners must demonstrate that they have the following capacity:
- Investigate the world beyond their immediate environment.
- Recognize/Weigh their own and others’ perspectives.
- Communicate ideas effectively with diverse audiences in English and one partner language.
- Translate their ideas into appropriate actions to improve conditions, i.e. they have taken action
- They are Seniors
- They are service learners
The GLOBAL EDUCATION WORK TEAM would like to update the status of the work:
January: Identification of eligible and potentially eligible Seniors
February: Information Sessions and Student Commitment
March: AAPPL Assessment for those who need to demonstrate Partner Language Excellence
March-May: 20 Hours Service Learning, portfolio completion
May 6: Portfolio Submission
May 15: Approval Notices/Feedback
May 20: Resubmission
May 25: Final Approval
June 6: Seal of Biliteracy Reception and Board Meeting
June 13 GRADUATION-Seal of Biliteracy Medals, Cords and Diploma
