The BRIDGE is Coming!
Most all of us 5K-7th grade are either Bridging now, or planning one in the next two weeks.

WHY do we do this?
  • 15,000 cognates btwn English and Spanish
  • Cognates comprise nearly 50% of academic language on Assessment
  • We teach for BILITERACY, ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, and MULTICULTURAL COMPETENCE
  • No Reason to wait! SIMULTANEOUS Bilingualism is a fact for our students
  • You don’t have time to teach two curriculums
  • It is so fun to hear how students think about language

So you want a better Bridge?

When does the Instructional Language give way to the Partner Language.  What is the Third Space?
The Third Space is the place for language Mixing, whereas the first and second space are monolingual
