Dual Language Assessment Team Meeting THURSDAY

A Dual Language Assessment Team first met in May of last year to discuss the needs we have around assessing our emergent bilingual students in the Dual Language Program.

In May we discussed: (Notes)

  • How do we know our students are on track towards academic Spanish and English Literacy Proficiency in grades 2-5?
  • Which tools and practices help us learn how to make adjustments to our instruction and resources in the Spanish Literacy curriculum grades 2-5?
  • Which areas of SP Literacy are we confident that we have current tools for data collection grades 2-5? (Phonological awareness and vocabulary and comprehension)
  • Which areas of SP Literacy are we concerned that we lack tools for data collection grades 2-5?
On THURSDAY November 15th from 4-5:30 a team of DL educators in grades K-8 will come together in room 213-215 to continue our conversation around Dual Language Assessment.

On TUESDAY November 27 from 4-5:30 this team will get to the the ENIL Assessment of Spanish Literacy.

In November we will discuss:
  • How do we evaluate Dual Language/Spanish Assessment?
  • What tool can we use to evaluate assessments we will review?
  • Which Assessments offer us most or more of what we want and need?  What strengths and limitations do they offer?

ALL ARE INVITED, PLEASE BRING YOUR VOICE TO THIS TEAM!
