You may be noticing a shift in the essential questions that are being planned in the BUFS by our exemplary model classrooms at 2nd-5th grade.
A shift has occurred to help our students to develop multicultural and global competency through socio-scientific inquiry. That is, students will be investigating real questions than impact local and global living conditions for people.
We are amplifying these questions:
- ¿Cómo cambia la Tierra a través del tiempo?
- ¿Como las leyes científicas describen la relación en el mundo natural?
- ¿Qué es la materia?
- ¿Cuales son las propiedades y estados de materia?
- ¿Qué le pasa a la materia cuando cambia de estado, cuando se mezcla o cuando disuelve?
towards the inclusion of essential/debatable questions with
a social-scientific significance like:
- ¿Tenemos la responsabilidad de evitar el desgaste de la Tierra en áreas afectadas por derrumbes?
- ¿Es el agua en tu área potable? ¿Quién se hace responsable para asegurar que el agua sea potable?
